As I read my last post, I realized it would be easy for this blog to start to sound like I'm on a soap box because I feel so strongly about working with seniors who are moving. If you don't know me, I imagine it may even sound preachy. So I thought I'd post something a little softer to temper my opinions :-). If you're working with a senior who is moving, perhaps you'll find this mantre helpful.
Resolution ~Mahatma Gandhi
Let the first act of every morning be to make the following resolve for the day:
I shall not fear anyone on earth.
I shall fear only God.
I shall not bear ill toward anyone
I shall not submit to injustice from anyone.
I shall conquer untruth by truth.
And In resisting untruth, I shall put up with all suffering.
Today, I decide to conquer my fears
I will do one thing today that will help me move toward a healthy transition
I will do one thing today to show my children and grandchildren I love them.
I will do one thing today that will help another human being in need.
I will do one thing today just for myself.
